Four Loves
A repackaged edition of the revered author's classic work that examines the four types of human love: affection, friendship, erotic love, and the love of God--part of the C. S. Lewis Signature Classics series.
C.S. Lewis--the great British writer, scholar, lay theologian, broadcaster, Christian apologist, and bestselling author of Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many other beloved classics--contemplates the essence of love and how it works in our daily lives in one of his most famous works of nonfiction. Lewis examines four varieties of human love: affection, the most basic form; friendship, the rarest and perhaps most insightful; Eros, passionate love; charity, the greatest and least selfish. Throughout this compassionate and reasoned study, he encourages readers to open themselves to all forms of love--the key to understanding that brings us closer to God.

Gift
The Gift takes place on a small homestead in the outskirts of Bethlehem during biblical times. It begins on a cool, quiet night in a modest stone house where a young boy reminds his father about the promise of retelling the son's favorite bedtime story.
The lad settles into bed under his woolen blanket. Then Father begins the well-loved tale about a young orphan, Samuel, who was growing up alone on the busy streets of Bethlehem. He has one possession he holds very dear to his heart, a small wooden flute.
One night, Samuel encounters three men riding on camels who give the appearance of a long journey. They are searching for a newborn child, a King! As the travelers continue on their way, Samuel's curiosity gets the best of him, so he follows them through the deserted city streets to a wooden stable.
Within the stable, Samuel views cows sleeping for the night and sheep munching on their hay. To his surprise, it appears that a man and a woman with a small infant have also settled in for a night of rest.
Of course, Samuel is in a state of confusion at this point. He wonders why the three visitors choose to lay gifts of wealth at the mother's feet.
Samuel now has a decision to make. Does he enter the stable? What will happen if he does? Will he need a gift to offer to this child as the three strangers did?
When you arrive at the end of the story, there is one more question you will be compelled to ask yourself. Enjoy reading the story and discovering the surprise ending!

Good of Giving Up
"Like many evangelicals who love the gospel, I had my doubts about Lent."
It's true, Lent can often seem like an empty ritual. But what Aaron Damiani came to find, and what he describes inside, is something else entirely. Something exceedingly good.
In The Good of Giving Up, Anglican pastor Aaron Damiani (who comes from a low-church background) explains the season of Lent, defends it theologically, and guides you in its practice. You'll learn:
Lent has been described as a "springtime for the soul," a season of clearing to make room for growth. The Good of Giving Up will show you why, encouraging you to participate in what many know as a rich spiritual journey.
"When I was finally ready to take the plunge, I learned that observing Lent is not a forced march of works-righteousness. But it was good medicine for [my soul], for the painful split between what I knew about God and what I experienced of Him."

In His Image: 10 Ways God Calls Us to Reflect His Character
Sometimes we ask What is God's will for my life? when we should really be asking Who should I be? The Bible has an answer: Be like the very image of God.
By exploring ten characteristics of who God is--holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise--this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God's own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow his will and are conformed to his image.
