Student Employment

Brewer Bookstore wouldn't be in business without our student workers! Each semester we employ a staff of 16-20 work-study students, with 6-8 work-study students during the summer months. Students are responsible for running our cash registers, creating delicious coffee drinks in our café, tagging and straightening merchandise, and special projects as assigned. Opportunities abound to interact with all types of people, including fellow students, professors, community members, parents, alumni, children, and more.

We look for students with a mature, thoughtful, and outgoing attitude; attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to work independently and handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner. Experience in retail, food service, and/or running a cash register is desirable, but not required.

To apply: Fill out the PDF application below and return to ksalathe@stlawu.edu; applications may also be printed and returned to the Bookstore. Paper applications are also available at the Bookstore checkout counter.

Applications are kept on file for one semester, and will be referenced should there be any openings. Students are encouraged to reapply (with updated scheduling information) for future semesters. Due to the volume of applications we receive, no acknowlegements will be sent; only students selected for interview will be contacted.
